Pittsburgh-headquartered PPG has completed its acquisition of Alpha Coating Technologies LLC, a Chicago manufacturer of powder coatings for light industrial applications and heat sensitive substrates. Financial terms were not disclosed for the transaction that was announced in February.
Founded in 2000, Alpha focuses on the development, manufacture and sale of powder coatings for light industrial applications; medium density fiberboard and heat sensitive substrates; and toll manufactures powder coatings for metal and light industrial applications. Alpha employs approximately 35 people at its operations in West Chicago, Illinois.
PPG, which develops and delivers paints, coatings and specialty materials to customers in the construction, consumer products, industrial and transportation markets and aftermarkets, operates in more than 70 countries. The company reported net sales of $15.1 billion in 2019.
