Sweden's Trelleborg Group has acquired Warrendale, Penn.-based Magee Plastics, expanding its Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business unit. Magee Plastics specializes in manufacturing and servicing high-performance thermoplastic and composite material solutions specifically for the aerospace industry.
Founded by Ted Magee 56 years ago, Magee Plastics develops interior solutions that meet complex aerospace specifications. In 2023, the company's sales reached approximately $22.5 million.
This acquisition by Trelleborg Group will enhance its capabilities in high-performance materials and further solidify its presence in the aerospace sector, leveraging Magee Plastics' extensive experience and innovative solutions. This acquisition will expand Trelleborg's capabilities in delivering advanced materials and services to the aerospace sector, enhancing its portfolio in high-performance sealing solutions and strengthening its position in this critical industry segment.
Jürgen Bosch, Business Area President of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, noted that the deal enhances the company's position in the aerospace industry by integrating advanced thermoforming and vacuum forming expertise. The deal expands Trelleborg’s portfolio of interior fittings for aerospace applications, which is expected to create sales synergies.
Trelleborg specializes in developing cutting-edge polymer-based solutions to safeguard crucial components operating in challenging conditions. Its operations span approximately 40 countries, generating annual revenues of approximately $3.3 billion in 2023.
