Zanesville-based The Zemba Companies has acquired Gahanna-based Geiger Materials.
The acquisition will integrate Geiger Materials' Columbus Recycle Plant with Zemba's existing Dresden Aggregates and Valley Clay Mining operations, forming a new entity: Zemba Materials. The new company aims to provide innovative solutions for repurposing construction debris and producing high-quality recycled materials.
Zemba Materials is positioning itself as a "circular-first" construction materials company, offering a closed-loop solution for the management and recycling of construction waste. As part of this initiative, Zemba Materials has joined the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), aligning itself with the organization’s efforts to promote sustainable building practices. This membership enables Zemba Materials to support clients in achieving Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification by offering responsibly sourced recycled materials.
The Columbus Recycle Plant, located on Leavitt Service Road in Gahanna, will play a key role in the company's efforts to support both environmental goals and industry needs.Â
