Kamal Quadir is a practitioner focusing on technology that brings social progress by enabling people economically. He is the Founder and CEO of bKash, a digital financial service serving millions of unbanked and underbanked Bangladeshis by democratizing mobile payments and driving financial inclusion. Earlier, Kamal founded CellBazaar, a mobile-based electronic marketplace for developing countries. A founding member of The Open World Initiative, a Lausanne-based organization of young thinkers, he’s involved with the Anwarul Quadir Foundation and Shireen Quadir Trust. A recipient of The Tech’s “Applying Technology to Benefit Humanity” award, Kamal was selected as a Young Global Leader, a First Mover Fellow and a TED Fellow respectively by the World Economic Forum, The Aspen Institute and TED. He completed his BA from Oberlin College and MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT.
