As Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Progress, Jeremy Segal is responsible for sourcing, executing and integrating Mergers and Acquisitions, which are essential elements of Progress’ Total Growth Strategy. With a strong track record of successfully acquiring and integrating companies, Jeremy’s expertise and experience better positions Progress to achieve its long-term goal of doubling the size of the company through M&A in five years.
Since joining Progress, Jeremy has been the driving force behind building the company’s acquisition pipeline and simultaneously leading the close and integration of three deals: Chef, Kemp, and MarkLogic. Each added complementary technologies and strategic recurring revenue to the Progress portfolio.
Jeremy spent over 20 years leading M&A functions in publicly traded technology companies with inorganic growth strategies. Prior to joining Progress, he was Global Head of Corporate Development at LogMeIn, and previously he served as Vice President of Corporate Development at Akamai Technologies. During his corporate development career, Jeremy has completed more than 35 acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures resulting in an aggregate value of over $9 billion.
A thought leader with frequent speaking and podcast appearances, Jeremy holds an MBA in Strategy and Corporate Finance from Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management and a BA in Government and Economics from Bowdoin College. Jeremy is currently on the Advisory Board of M&A Science and the Alumni Council at Bowdoin College.
