Chris Carter

Chris Carter, a native of Tennessee, attended the University of Memphis and pursued culinary studies at Le Cordon Bleu in Arizona. After working at The Capital Grill at the Hermitage Hotel, he co-founded with partner James Peisker, Porter Road Butcher in 2011 with a mission to change the local food system. In 2017, raised $3.7M to launch the country's first whole animal online butcher, PorterRoad.com, and in 2021 secured a 30,000 sqft building to support the company's growth. With a Series A Fundraise of $10M, Porter Road aims to become a leader in the $100M meat industry.
