Barry Walker

Barry Walker has for nearly 40 years served as a compass and an anchor within Nashville's urban redevelopment, commercial real estate and iconic-properties marketplace. His Marathon Village community has become a touchstone for such projects. The Village is now home to more than 80 creative office, merchandise, entertainment, manufacturing and other hospitality tenants, including Antique Archeology, H Bar C Western Wear, Harley Davidson, and Jack Daniel's General Store, all housed within Marathon Motor Works original factory. Additionally, Walker is now developing startup infrastructure and business modeling for a Marathon-linked hospitality-franchise venture that draws upon the 19th-Century automotive-manufacturing history of sites in both Nashville and Jackson, Tenn. He remains unflagging in vision and initiative, as he continues investing energy and capital in purposeful redevelopment, honoring urban and industrial history, and restoring to useful service the most treasured urban areas in Tennessee and beyond.
