John Peak

John’s mission is to help leading firms use public cloud to fundamentally transform and gain competitive advantage across their industry. He leads Cloud by McKinsey, McKinsey’s cloud specialty arm, and has led initiatives in a variety of industries, including banking and financial services, healthcare, insurance, consumer goods, and telecommunications.

John’s understanding of how to launch successful cloud initiatives is grounded in his 30-year career as a software architect and developer, as well as the cofounder of technology firms including Candid Cloud. Candid grew to be the largest cloud specialty firm in North America and implemented over 300 cloud initiatives without failure. It was acquired by McKinsey in 2020.
